The Navajo (also called Dine) are the most numerous of Native American tribes. Based on an estimate by the US Census, there are currently about 300,000 Navajo people in the USA living in the area south of the Four Corners (the intersection of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah). Linguists place their language as a Na-Dene language, a subset of the large Athapaskan language family.
